Fieldcreek Ranch encompasses Wolf Run, providing a beautiful environment with the picturesque Mount Rose southwest of the course.

Though nestled in the rural areas between Virginia City and Reno, residents are not far from many necessary amenities. Located on the east side of Interstate 580 is a large shopping district known as The Summit Reno. This expansive outdoor shopping mall offers a variety of retailers, services, restaurants and more for shoppers to choose from. Some of the most popular stores in the mall include Orvis, Bath & Body Works, Williams-Sonoma, lululemon, Dillard’s, Jared, and Old Navy. Visitors will also find a number of restaurants including Burger Me!, Teriyaki Madness, Skipolini’s, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Miguel's Mexican and a national favorite, Starbucks.

Further shopping can be accomplished at a small plaza located just a few minutes south on Mt. Rose Highway. The location offers a grocery store, financial institute, pet store, nail salon, and gas station. There are a few dining opportunities available which include McDonald’s, Bully’s Sports Bar and Grill, Baskin-Robbins and another Starbucks.

Galena Junction Shopping Center has a neighborhood Raley’s and the locally owned and operated Truckee Bagel Company. South Towne Crossing is a center with a Walmart Supercenter, Mel’s Diner, Doughboy’s Donuts, and Ijji Noodle House. South Meadows Promenade is minutes away with a Sprouts Farmers Market, Blaze Pizza, Chipotle, Marshalls, and Chase Bank.

Along with the restaurants located at the nearby malls, residents of Virginia City Highlands are able to quickly reach a handful of dining establishments which feature a variety of flavors. Heading north on Interstate 580 opens up a large number of options to choose from. Genghis Grill, Texas Roadhouse, The Twisted Fork, Bawarchi Elite Cuisine, Butcher’s Kitchen Char-B-Que and Chihuahua’s Cantina & Grill.

For those with children, or anyone who enjoy participating in organized sports, Virginia City Highlands is located a short distance from the South Valley Regional Sports Complex, which falls on the west side of Interstate 580. The large city facility is home to a variety of sport fields and includes opportunities for ice skating and more. The regional park is also home to a disc golf course and a large children’s playground.

Washoe Lake and Little Washoe Lake are a 30-minute trip for residents. The Scripps State Wildlife Management Area and Washoe Lake State Park are readily available to visitors. Washoe Lake is a fantastic recreation area and in only half the travel time of a trip to Lake Tahoe.

Other area recreation opportunities can be found heading south at Washoe Lake Park and Mt. Rose Ski. Enjoy spending summers out on the lake participating in a variety of water activities and hit the slopes during the winter months at the very popular Mt. Rose Ski resort. Of course, nearby Lake Tahoe is also home to an expansive amount of recreational activities.
